Dr. Amanda Morris

Dr. Morris grew up in Huntsville, Alabama with regular trips to Charleston for family vacations as her parents, Glenn and Carol, originally met and lived in Mt. Pleasant as newlyweds. She then moved to South Carolina to attend Wofford College where she played on their division I soccer team for all four years. During her time in college, she was selected to participate in an undergraduate research program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) through the dental school and subsequently moved to Charleston after college graduation to pursue her research full time in the Lowcountry. She then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine). Next, she completed her 3-year Periodontics residency in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science Center where she received her Certificate of Periodontics and Master of Science degree.

She is excited to be back in South Carolina and serve the community of Mt. Pleasant. Dr. Morris is an avid runner and enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling. She also has two rescue cats adopted from the Marion Square farmers market.

Dr. Elizabeth Bjornson

Dr B

Dr. Elizabeth Bjornson specializes in Periodontic and Implant Dentistry. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa. She has a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She also has a Master of Health Science from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Dr. Bjornson is married to her trophy husband, Gary Visser and they have two adult children, Hannah and Garret. Hannah pursued her childhood dream and is now a veterinarian and Garret is a Wildlife Biologist. In addition, the furry members of their family include a yellow tabby cat named Fripp, and an English Setter named Capers.

Gardening is a hobby of Dr. Bjornson. Once a fan of hybrid tea roses, she found that there were other low maintenance beauties, allowing her to have time to sip tea in her garden. Having grown up in Iowa, she loves the opportunity to garden nearly nine months of the year. She misses the black, rich soil of the Midwest, but has learned what grows in sand. Flowers and the garden are expressions of beauty and give her much satisfaction.
Dr. Bjornson enjoys living in Charleston due to its rich history, preservation and beauty. One of her family’s favorite and regular activities is to explore the coastline of Charleston by boat. The osprey have since replaced the pheasants of the plains for Dr. Bjornson, and the variety of marine wildlife continue to be entertainment for her family.
